I have a problem; I save stuff that I regret buying, that I will never use, and that I have grown out of. I don’t know why. I’m sure there are many psychologists out there that would just LOVE to collect thousands of dollars from my insurance company to help me figure it out, but I’m not going to give them the pleasure because today I had an epiphany: I could just throw that $hite away.
And I will. Just as soon as I share with you why I have such a passion for some trashin 🙂 Yes. I just went there. Bask. Just bask.
Lola by Marc Jacobs – Oh, excuse me. Not the REAL Lola by Marc Jacobs. The knock off one. You know. The one you found on eBay for $35 from the seller with 3 stars and tons of negative feedback that goes something like, “these products are fake, don’t buy here!” and yet you bought anyway because OMG it’s $35 for Marc Jacobs!!?? Yeah. Enough said.
L’oreal Paris Sublime Bronze Tinted Self-Tanning Mouse- “Oh, but Kaily, didn’t you feature that as one of your favorites for the month of June??” The answer is yes. Yes I did. And it was. But I have a short attention span for high maintenance beauty reutines and I simply do not have the patience to self tan. I will be pale forever. And I accept this, and move on. Plus this $hiz kept staining my sheets which is no bueno.
Bielenda Happy Feet Foot and Heel Cream- Nothing. That’s what this cream does for me. It does not make my feet happy and by default it does not make me happy either. I see and feel no difference in the quality care of my poor little footsies and therefore yet again have not patience for this product. Let me tell you what does work though! Vaseline! Slap it on and toss some socks on top. Your feet will thank you.
BB Cream. Any Brand. Anywhere.- I don’t get it. I really don’t. I feel like people with oily skin spend so much time avoiding products that make their face feel greasy, and people with dry to normal skin spend so much time thankful that they don’t have oily skin that I just don’t get why anyone would purposely slap a heavy, oily feeling product on their face. Am I missing something?
Covergirl Lipstick Smoochies- Just, yuck. Firstly, do you remember the chapstick that you used to obsess over when you were 9? Yes, Lipsmackers, that’s the one. Do your remember why you quit buying it? Oh, what was that? You say because you realized that it was crap quality and tasted/felt like plastic? Well move over Lipsmackers, becaus there is a new, more terrible tasting, less color giving, worse texture feeling lippie in town and that Bad-A$$ bia is called Covergirl. Or Lipstick Smoochie to you.
So there you have it, but boy oh boy is there more to come. Please note that the purpose of this post is not to start a hate fest, but to share with you products that flat out suck, mistakes I’ve made that hopefully we can all learn from, and then products that didn’t work for me personally so if you have a similar skin type/tone or similar interests then you know what to steer clear from 🙂 Thanks for reading!
