I feel like the greatest discoveries of all time were total accidents. I mean, I’m not saying that this moisturizer is on the same level as the discovery of America or the invention of the light bulb or anything… but at the same time, I certainly wasn’t on the hunt for it; it sort of just showed up at my door. Literally.
I found out about Acure Organics through a freebie website back in June; basically, Acure Organics was shipping boxes full of their best selling products to anyone who signed up within the designated time frame. You better believe I was all over it!
Among the contents of my shipment (and there were many full-sized contents, they were very generous), was the Acure Organics version of Day Cream (which retails for $18.99 on their website). I’m not going to lie, I really had no interest in using this daydream at first because I was very happy with the Simple brand moisturizer I was using. At the time, I had no clue about the value of the products in my shipment, or the standards of the company who makes them… but then I got curious and began to investigate the brand.
To summarize, Acure Organics is a Leaping Bunny certified company that is all about nutrition-based skincare; they use no parabens, sulfates, phthalates, petrochemicals, or animal bi-products in their products, and they are gluten free. They also only use Green packaging, recycled materials, and 100% biodegradable packaging. And they are big on educating the world about how easy it is to make healthier product choices free from harmful chemicals. Read more on their site here.
The Acure Organics Day Cream is a lovely, lightweight, fast absorbing moisturizer; I find the thickness to be just perfect as it is not too thick and creamy, or too thin and watery (just the perfect balance of both). The scent is lovely for the fall (it’s a citrus-spice type scent that reminds me of apple cider), although it doesn’t really last past application. Sure, for $18.99 you might expect more from the packaging in terms of looks but I actually appreciate that this company is only using recycled, biodegradable packaging so I don’t mind. I would give it a 4 out of 5 stars though because my skin is more on the dry/normal side and I would appreciate just a tad more longevity to the soft and supple post-moisturized feel 🙂 In short, I would recommend.
