But I got it. It’s here. I’m all swatched up. And ready to share!
Sure, this palette is $39.50 (plus shipping), but it also comes with The Body Builder mascara! I’m excited to check this one out because I cherish a good mascara and I’m interested in branching out my experience with TheBalm to more than just palettes. I haven’t got a review for you on this atm because I have a few mascara’s open that I’m trying to work through now but judging from the wand alone, this mascara does seem to be prepped for adding length. Worst case, it should be ideal for lower lashes. We shall see!
Update 1/2/15 : I hate this mascara. HATE it. It’s not too wet or too dry which is something that I like but the brush is terrible. You get volume, length, and megablackness… BUT no matter how delicate you are with the application you still end up with like 3 lashes. And it’s a beast to get off. Hate it.
In terms of quality I am really at a loss as to why I don’t read more about TheBalm or hear about TheBalm more from fellow bloggers and YouTubers. It really is such great quality for such an affordable higher-end brand and the Nude Dude palette is no exception. The shades are all so pigmented and buttery, and they just blend so beautifully. There is also a really good balance of light, medium and dark shades so you can take this from day to night. Furthermore, this palette is 1/3 matte so you really don’t need any other palette to complete a look. And don’t even get me started on those rosy-purple shades and that metallic gun-metal because if you do, it’s over.
That having been said, the shades in this palette are not as pigmented as the ones in the original Nude’tude (particularly the purple shimmer called “Flirty”), but that’s nothing a little extra application can’t fix; the same is true for the darker shades in the palette, but I personally appreciate that because I tend to be a bit heavy-handed…
