Now, THIS is what I’m talking about! Julep really outdid themselves with their November mystery box. Not only was this entire lot just $24.99 ($150 retail value, and members pay nothing for shipping), but the balance of makeup and nail polish is just perfect.
Sky (silver) and Chantel (gold) were the only two guarantees that Julep made when they released this mystery box. Both polishes contain chunky, diamond shape glitters that will make for some really festive holiday looks! I’m particularly drawn to the gold and can’t wait to get 30 minutes to myself so I can test her out!
From top to bottom, we scored Millie, Gayle, Michelle and Alex. Although I have a ton of Julep polish, I was really excited to find that I had none of these 4 shades, and all were a part of 2014 collections! Each of these has the O2 formula which allows your nails to breathe and I think also speeds up dry time (not a claim that Julep makes, but this seems to be my experience so far),
I don’t remember what Julep box I got the blank canvas primer in… I want to say it was the one from September? But I love it. I hope to post a full review soon but all the same I was really, really happy to see this in here.
Admittedly, I’m not really a gloss girl. Had this product not been placed in my box, I wouldn’t have shed tears but having sampled it, I must say that it’s not all that bad. It has a very lovely vanilla scent (no mint, just vanilla), applies pretty evenly, stays put, and isn’t goopy at all. It’s definitely more opaque than sheer but it doesn’t stay on your lips for more than an hour so that’s just something to keep in mind.
I haven’t had the chance to test out these shadow brushes yet but I’m super excited to have them. Right of the bat, I can say that I like the clean angle of the shader brush and the smaller size. And as far as the angled brush is concerned, you can never have too many. Uh, seriously… I keep losing mine. No clue how. They are like the socks of my brush collection. The dryer eats them or some such nonsense.
I’m a brat, I know… I really hate getting eyeliner in boxes. It’s just such a boring makeup product to me. And it lasts foreverrrrrrrr. And they all do the same thing, right!? But I’m going to try and give this one a fair shot. As you can see, it’s pretty black and even in application. It was also really creamy to apply. But I guess it never hurts to have a stick on hand though 🙂
All in all, this was a GREAT box!
