If you are on the fence about if you need both, can’t decide between the two, or just want to see what the difference is, this is for you!

Here is an outline of what our side-by side comparison will look like, and in it we will discuss my picks for:
- Best color selection
- Balance of warm and cool tones
- Overall quality of the product
Best Color Selection:
Both palettes are neutral and versatile and could go from pretty-girly-daytime to sexy-sassy-night-time mega fast. I will say this, if palettes like the rosy Naked 3 and Lorac Unzipped (the original) appeal to you, the Nude’tude is your jam. On the other hand, if you are drawn more to rich golds and playful purples, go for the Nude Dude for sure.
Do you like it Warm or do you like it Cold?
Both palettes lean warm, but if you prefer cool-tones, the Nude Dude may be the best fit for you.
There aren’t many reviews of the Nude Dude out there and the ones that I have read are a bit mixed. Some people say the pigmentation is better than the Nude’tude, others say it is worse. Personally, I don’t feel that thebalm in general makes the most pigmented eye-shadows ever, but that’s one of the things I like about them (it’s hard to overdo your makeup if you’re building the color). That having been said, I think the pigmentation of the Nude’tude is just a bit better.
I love thebalm shadows because they are so easy to blend. Both of these palettes meet my thebalm-blendability expectations 🙂
If you’re looking for long-wearing eye-shadows that don’t require primer, you might want to steer clear of thebalm in general, but with primer I find that the shadows in both of these palettes last all day.
I really enjoy thebalm’s packaging; it’s so gaudy and I just love it! The truth is I adore both of these palettes not just for their super slim and well thought-out packaging, but for the quality that you get at the price point.
If I had to pick one that I prefer over the other it would be the Nude Dude, but that’s 100% personal preference and has nothing to do with the quality of either. I just feel that the matte shades included in the Nude Dude (particularly the cream) make it more wearable, and I freaking LOVE the goldy-purple twist goin’ on in here! Besides, what can I say I just love me some good ol’ purple eyeshadows!
That having been said, you really can’t go wrong with either, and they are totally different enough that you could own both and not be crazy (no dupes, btw).
WHERE TO BUY:
You can find both palettes at TheBalm.com or at Kohl’s. Sometimes the Nude’tude pops up on Overstock.com for $22.99, but your best bet if you’re hoping to find these on sale would be to sign up for Hautelook and wait for a flash sale where most of their stuff is 50% off!
