Muah-ha-ha-ha! It’s MINEEEEEEEEEEE! Can you tell I’m excited? This was actually my Mother’s Day gift this year. If you saw the 5 Palettes that are on My Radar post I did at the start of the month then you can only imagine the inner turmoil I dealt with trying to pick which palette I wanted; but thanks to an HSN coupon worth $20 off any SINGLE purchase of $40 or more, the decision became rather easy for me and I actually ended up scoring the brand spankin’ new Too Faced Semi-Sweet palette for just $29!
P.S. The coupon is good until 5/31/15 and you can find out more about it [here].
So glad Too Faced decided to add the names of the shades onto the packaging. I threw away the clear sheet that went over my OG Chocolate bar the day I got it because I knew it would just piss me off. Even so, I’m still regularly pissed off that I don’t know the names of any of the shadows #firstworldproblems
I’m also really happy to see a matte black in there, and I really look forward to using that fun blue shade on my lower lash line!
By now you are probably 100% aware that Pink Sugar was a total dud in this palette. What most people don’t mention though is the fact that Coconut Creme is so lacking in pigment that it is virtually useless. So what, you ask? Well… do you see any other light shades in this palette besides Pink Sugar and Coconut Creme? No, that’s right. So what you are left with is a shit ton of dark shades.
Also, is it just me or did those two “larger” shades shrink since the original Chocolate Bar?
It’s not a bad palette overall and most of the shades are great quality, but it really does upset me when companies release shades that they know are total shit (I’m talking about you Pink Sugar and Coconut Creme). It’s not like they don’t test the products before making decisions. But I digress.
To be honest, I’m not 100% sure this palette was a necessity for me seeing as how it really is sooo warm; in fact, I’m still a bit surprised that Too Faced didn’t go the cooler-toned route seeing as how the OG Chocolate Bar was already pretty freaking warm. But I am happy with the cool toned options that were included (lovin that Rum Raisin) and there’s always next year! White Chocolate Bar anyone!?
Do you own this palette? What are your thoughts? Please feel free to leave any requests for palette comparisons in the comments section bellow if you are debating between this palette and any others. Till next time, stay sunny!
