First up, I was pretty excited to see this pressed pigment from Lauren Brooke Cosmetiques. As most of you know, I have worked with LBC in the past; not only were they generous enough to send a few loose pigments and a lipstick for me to review and share with you [here], but they also sponsored a giveaway for my beloved Chai Lip Scrub that I actually discovered through Vegan Cuts this past February!
V from Say Hello to Gorgeous was the winner (congrats again, V), so if you would like to see how her thoughts compare to mine, you can check out her review of the LBC Chai Lip Scrub [here] and mine [here].
Anyways, this teal (they call it “Morning Dew”) is a really pretty color with just a hint of shimmer (not the kind that is chunky and has a shit ton of fall out, the kind that gives your lid just a pretty sheen). The shadow does require a little building to get a good swatch, but once done the color is magnificent. Please scroll to the bottom of this unboxing to see a swatch, and feel free to leave any requests for reviews and/or looks that you would like to see created with the eyeshadow in the comments section below!
Next, and the product that I’m probably most excited about is this Devocean Natural Lipstick in the shade “Firebird” from Pacifica . About 6 months ago I remember hearing several YouTubers raving about this new Pacifica line of lipsticks, but I haven’t heard a peep out of anyone sense. I wonder why?
It can’t be the quality because for a Natural lipstick I’m pretty freaking impressed. Again, for a swatch, check the end of this post, and if you are interested in my full thoughts just let me know!
Ok so let’s talk about the Athara eye cream for a second. Firstly, I’m loving the packaging. The product is so densely packed in there that I thought for sure this was some type of a face mask until I opened it. But it’s not! It’s an eye cream that smells like freaking coffee!!! The scent only lasts for 30 seconds or so but you better believe I’m already all over it 🙂
Last but not least we are about to get to the bottom of why my box smelt like nothing but roses before I could even open it… Oh bath salts, why do you hate me so!? As you can tell from the picture on the right, the 4th and final product that was in my May Vegan Cuts box was a faultily packaged bath salt kit. In all honestly, I’ve always been more of a shower girl (um, let’s be real… who has time for a bath with an 18 month old anyways!?) so I’ve never actually even used bath salts before! I know! Crazy, but very true!
I feel so let down! This is a product I never buy for myself which is all the more reason why I was so excited to try it! Oh well, I guess today just isn’t my day to start :-/ They smelt nice though.
Ok swatch time people… Am I the only one who would totally wear these two colors together?! I can see it now… vibrant red-orange lips for summer… winged liner… smoking out that blue shadow on the lower lashline… ohhhh yeahhhh 🙂
Do you subscribe to VC?! What are your thoughts on this months box!?
