Well hello, you sexy beast, you! I’ve got to say, I’m getting kind of a big head! Over the course of the past week or so, I’ve received several compliments on the condition of my skin and hopefully I won’t sound like an arrogant jerk when I say, I agree! Haha 🙂 And since I hold secrets about as well as a bucket with a hole in the bottom holds water… Today I thought I’d go ahead and share my secret!
Firstly I wanted to say thank you to the friendly people over at Amara Organics who sent me these products in exchange for my honest review. Typically, when I work with a brand I try to get reviews out within a week or two out of respect for their generosity, but when it comes to products like skincare that require weeks (and sometimes even months) of testing before you can see results… equal parts diligence and patience are requires; so 7 weeks later, I can finally say I have a well formulated opinion of the following products:
- Total Repair Eye Gel $17.95
- Retinol Serum 2.5% $19.95
- Hyaluronic Acid Serum $17.95
Amara Organics FAQ’s

Hyaluronic Acid Serum
ABOUT IT: Did you know that Hyauronic Acid holds up to 1000 times its weight in water? I didn’t either, but now that I do it makes sense why it is known for it’s moisturizing abilities! As a result, users of products like Amara Organic’s Hyaluronic Acid Serum can expect their skin to not only look/feel more moisturized, but you will also see a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles.
DOES IT WORK: It sure as hell does! Although you can use this serum twice a day (both day and night) I have religiously used it every morning since it arrived at my doorstep 7 weeks ago and I do see a significant reduction in fine lines and wrinkles.
Now, I know what you’re thinking… “you’re 27… what fine lines and wrinkles!?” Well… I’m going to tell you something I’m ashamed to share. I’ve been smoking on and off since I was 21… so if you want to see some premature fine lines and wrinkles (not to mention higher risks of cancer and impending death) go ahead and smoke.
Anyways, this isn’t an infomercial. It works and if I could recommend just one product of the 3 for aging, hands down it would be this one.
ABOUT IT: Did you know that Retinol is the #1 Dermatologist recommended anti-aging ingredient? It is also clinically proven to improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and pigmentation in as little as 12 weeks. Retinol is also a powerful acne fighting ingredient that helps to clear up blemishes by clearing out pores and reducing blackheads (which ultimately results in smaller looking pores).
DOES IT WORK: Let’s see. “Results in as little as 12 weeks” vs. the 7 weeks I’ve been testing it? I’m thinking we certainly will have to revisit this one in the future (I’m really hoping for some help in the pigmentation department)! But! I was looking at my face close up the other day and couldn’t help but notice that many of my pores look so much less noticeable.
I also get hormonal breakouts on my chin. I have since I was in high school and it’s always been the kind that sit UNDER the skin, are painful and take weeks to clear up. I swear to you, I’ve seen this kind of acne clear up on my face in 3 days time on two different occasions since I’ve been using this serum. I’m not saying you need to buy this one, I’m just saying that retinol REALLY does work for treating acne and I really, really love this product.
Total Repair Eye Gel
ABOUT IT: With a mixture of cucumber extracts, Hyaluronic Acid and plant stem-cells, this plumping and rejuvenating eye gel claims that it can “reduce dark circles, puffiness, bags, and crow’s-feet and reveal refreshed, radiant eyes.” You can also use this eye gel on your “forehead, around the lips, laugh lines, and neck to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, plump, firm, and hydrate skin. Also great for hands to slow aging.”
DOES IT WORK: I’ve been applying this gel around my eyes, in the middle of my forehead and down my laugh lines every morning for the past 7 weeks and totally see a difference in the appearance of fine lines. I don’t know how much of that is due to this product or the Haylouranic Acid Serum because I’ve been using both simultaneously, but I swear my under eyes are looking just a bit less blue. Or at the very least, “full” and “healthy.” Does that make sense? They just look moisturized.
Now this wouldn’t be a party without a raincloud so let’s talk about some cons here:
- You can buy them online, so you will miss out on browsing the isles in person and adding shit to your cart that you didn’t come into the store for. I’m talking to you giant Lindt chocolate bar.
- Wrinkles and acne scars build character, so when these products take that character away you’ll have to just deal with the younger, healthy looking skin.
- They’re also affordable so now you are going to have to spend hours thinking about what you will do with the money you saved.
I really enjoyed using these products. They didn’t have strange scents, colors or textures. They didn’t leave my face feeling oily, cloggy, sticky or gross. They aren’t expensive. And they do what they claim to do! After almost 2 months of testing I can tell you without a doubt that all three of these Amara Organics products are 100% worth your money if you are looking for some good quality, and good for you skincare.
