Cargo Cosmetics recently released the “Venice Eye Shadow Palette” just in time for Fall and boy oh boy is that color range the epitome of the season or what!? Some of you might remember my disappointing review of their Shanghai palette last Winter, but who doesn’t believe in second chances!?
Would Look Best With: Green Eyes
General Observations: Decently pigmented, low price point, little fall out, really easy to blend, not the most long-wearing shadows I’ve ever tried, all shadows are either satin or shimmer or matte with micro-glitter
Price: $34 ($94.44 per oz)
Where to Buy: Cargo, Kohl’s, Ulta
I “like” this palette. I don’t have to struggle to come up with color-combos because the shades just flow, and although I’m not really a warm-shadow kind of girl the greens, oranges and merlot shades are right up my alley for the Fall. My only real complaint here is that there is literally not one single matte in this palette which IMO defeats the purpose of a palette (to have everything you need in one place).
Thankfully I have plenty of matte shadows in my collection to pair with this palette (my personal favorite being the Kat Von D Shade+Light Eye palette), but if you don’t I think that is something to consider before you make the plunge.
You can see from the condition of the palette that these shadow do have a little bit of glitter fall out so that’s something else to consider if you are a bit of a neat freak 😉
