For those of you who are not aware, today is Thursday, September 1st 2016. The problem with that is, little man was due Wednesday, August 31st 2016 and he’s still snoozing in my belly. But that’s a Baute for you, we’re honestly late for EVERYTHING.
I had been feeling quite a bit of pain in my lower abdomen on Monday, so we actually headed to the ER that night to make sure everything was okay. As it turns out, that can be pretty normal for women who’ve had a normal birth before. Apparently the pressure of the baby dropping was upsetting the scar tissue from Gabriel’s eviction in 2013, so that’s how the past few days have been going.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad everything was okay… but just being in the hospital, and wearing that stupid 90’s print hospital gown that let’s your ass hangout was really making the whole things seem a bit more “real.” So I was kind-of disappointed when we were sent back home.
I mean, not that I’m looking forward to labor or anything… thank goodness for epidurals (or epic squirrels as my husband and I like to joke), but I’m just ready to meet my baby. And I’m ready to NOT be pregnant.
On the bright side, I finally got my hospital bag packed :-X I literally just tossed everything together in a bag before we headed to the hospital Monday night (just in case). My husband has been nagging me to pack it for weeks, but honestly, I don’t know what the fuss is about anyways. With Gabriel I packed my bag the same day and I really didn’t need anything besides a camera and a toothbrush. The hospital had clothes, food, diapers, pads… everything, really. Although, I will admit it is nice to have your own things, so I guess it doesn’t hurt to rely a little on both.
And lastly, my husband is still working on editing those maternity pictures I told you about, but in the mean time I do have two to share! I absolutely loved the dress I ordered from Pink Blush Maternity. I got sooooo many compliments while we walked around Historic Ybor in Tampa for the photoshoot and then again when we had lunch at Red Robin.
Although, I really do NOT recommend that you wait until you are 37 weeks pregnant to take maternity pictures… it’s hot, you’re big, EVERYTHING is swollen and it takes you forever to get to different picture locations because at this point you do not walk, you waddle.
