I recently discovered an online discount bookstore called Thrift Books through Emily Fox and I placed a small order! I picked up 5 books for just $16.32 and I’ve got to tell you… I can’t be more excited about that FREE shipping after any $10 order. You don’t even know.
Dash and Lily’s Book of Dares by David Levithan and Rachel Cohn
For a reason undisclosed in the blurb, Lily decides to put together a notebook of dares and hides it in her favorite bookstore where it is to wait for someone brave enough to take on the challenge. Enter, Dash. “What follows is a whirlwind romance as Dash and Lily trade dares, dreams, and desires in the notebook they pass back and forth at locations all across New York City.”

The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
I saw this when it was in theaters with my husband’s daughter a few years ago and I failed so bad at trying to pretend I wasn’t casually wiping tears away.
“Hazel is sixteen, with terminal cancer, when she meets Augustus at her kids-with-cancer support group. The two are kindred spirits” laughing, and crying and falling in love in spite of fear, anger, heartache and the nearness of death.
Obviously I know from the movie that my heart will break all over again in the end, but it’s worth it just to be reminded that we are all dying, and that’s all the more reason to live!
The Dust Lands Trilogy
And then because I can’t resist a good distopian trilogy, I picked up the Dust Lands books which (according to MTV’s Holywood Crush… whoever that is) are “better than the Hunger Games.”
Now, I’m not sure there are many distopian trilogies that are better than the Hunger Games… but I don’t doubt for one second that there are MANY distopian trilogies that END better than the Hunger Games. So I’m excited to give them a try!
“Saba has spent her whole life in Silverlake, a dried-up wasteland ravaged by constant sandstorms. The Wrecker civilization has long been destroyed, leaving only landfills for Saba and her family to scavenge from.” Long story short, someone steals her twin brother and Saba sets out to get him back. Along the way she battles lots of badguys, meets a love interest and builds her own gang of underdogs.
What are you hauling!?
