To say that nail polish has been a bit of an obsession lately would be quite the understatement. I don’t know what it is! But ever since I made the conscious effort to narrow my collection down to just 7 bottles, I feel like they’ve turned into Pokemon and I’ve gotta catch-em-all!
So I’m really eager to share with you a few I’ve been loving so far this season!
Pink: I love Belmont Shore because it’s very Spring. Now, I know that sounds odd considering this is a post on Winter polish, but hear me out… Do you, or do you not get excited for the next season like 1.5 months before you’re there yet? You do, and so do I! So if you think about it, a Spring polish in a Winter lineup really does make perfect sense! But if you want a pink that is legit Winter, try a mauve like Undercover or Mayfair Lane which is really pretty pale pink!
Cool-Red: Red a Good Book is a shade that I love outside of Winter as well, but especially during and in the few months after the holidays. It’s festive, but it also just makes me feel classy and confident… which is good because I never got around to removing the swatches I did for this post, so it looks like I’ll be #adulting with at least one sassy red nail today!
Navy: Smoke Gets in Your Eyes may not quite be a true navy, but that’s part of what I love the most about it for this season. Winter can feel so dreary at times so the smokey quality of this dark-blue polish lends itself to that feeling nicely. Plus it’s one of those colors that is super dark but not quite black and I feel like that makes it really interesting!
Icy Blue: Hands down, I love an icy blue in the Winter. Absolutely no clue why because nothing in Winter that has not been commercialized is icy blue, but it’s something that I just can’t do without. Wear Skinny Jeans is a favorite, but I’ve also got my eyes on Carey and Jessica.
Taupe: If icy blue doesn’t scream Winter to you, I’m sure a nice nude does. My favorite? Porchester Square. Best yet, it’s a Gel Effect polish so it’s quite long lasting as well! I also really like Wet Cement when I want something a bit darker and I was recently sent a few of Habit Cosmetic’s Winter Collection so I’m pretty excited to test out Phantom as well!
I was on the Julep website today and noticed that they are doing a clearance sale! My favorite deal is the Mystery Polish Grab Bag. It’s $20 and you get 10 polishes! Check it out here.
