On any given day the only thing that changes about my makeup routine is my eyeshadow. Don’t get me wrong, I love makeup… playing with it… layering it on my face… dusting it, reorganizing it and opening the packaging to stair at it for long periods of time with a dopey smile on my face… but lately I’ve been suckered into a lot of new releases at the drugstore that have been changing up my makeup routine in a good way!
I’m still on the hunt for the perfect SPF daily moisturizer, but I’ve been enjoying this oil elixer so much as a moisturizing-primer hybrid that I almost don’t even want to find one! It’s lightweight (for an oil), sinks quickly into my skin, is hydrating and overall just makes my foundation look better and last longer.
This is the foundation I’ve been wearing the most over the oil. It doesn’t really set into my skin as well as I would like but it looks and feels quite natural and lightweight for the medium to full coverage I get out of it and while it does crease just a teeny tiny bit that’s nothing that a few finger pats won’t fix! The best part though as someone with combo skin is that it looks good over EVERYTHING and it lasts well in my oily t-zone too!
Milli was a limited edition pressed eyeshadow single that ColourPop was giving away for free with any order around the time that they first launched their pressed shadows (this palette has a great dupe, btw). Normally I wouldn’t mention an eyeshadow single that costs $5 (am I the only one that finds that expensive?) let alone is sold out, but the formula made me do it!
For the price, I’m not the biggest fan of the matte or satin singles that I’ve tried from the ColourPop line (they are super pigmented and super blendable, but I don’t like how they fade); and with the Metallic shades I do have to press a bit harder with my brush to get the shadow to transfer from the bristles to my lid, but they are so striking and long lasting! A few others that I have my eye on are “Come and Get it,” “Save it for Later,” and “Sideline“.
What are some drugstore products that you have been loving lately!?
