Last Friday we spent some time at my in-laws community pool. We’ve taken Gabriel to the beach before and we do have a kiddie pool that we dig out of the garage once or twice a year, but otherwise the boys have never actually been to a pool.
Daniel could not have loved it more. He spent the entire time splashing and kicking his feet. Honestly, you would think the kid was a fish!
Gabriel on the other hand spent most of his time glued to the top 3 steps leading into the pool or clinging to whoever was willing to tote him around on their back as they swam (props to his sister Isabel who did most of the toting).
My husband kept trying to coax him in but he was not having it. He’d prance around the outside of the pool shaking his entire left hand in the universal “I don’t think so” motion while repeating his catch phrase “oh, no no no no no.”
It’s crazy how different these two little people are.
Daniel is always so quite and observant, but he’s not scared to try anything. Gabriel on the other hand will jump into just about any situation without a thought… and then he’ll finish thinking it through and back off quicker than he jumped in.
Even in their own ways, though, they both had so much fun. Gabriel is eagerly awaiting our next trip to the “water pool,” and Daniel I’m sure won’t be mad about another visit either.
