Happy 4th of July!
I tried to explain to Gabriel that it is our counties birthday. He wanted to know what kinda gifts she was getting, lol. He also insisted she needed a cake so we made a flag cake.
We took the boys to the park to take pictures first, though. Daniel refused to flip the flag upright because he wanted to chew on the pole and it was easier to access upside-down. But he’s also at a stage where he likes to show you what he has before he puts it in his mouth which was what he was doing in the above picture.
Daniel also spent a lot of time trying to pilfer Gabriel’s flag.
For Father’s Day my husband got a new grill. So you know we had to get some good use out of it for the 4th.
I did a pretty good job of sticking to my diet. Instead of a bun, I used romaine lettuce to hold my burger. Although I couldn’t resist a few bites of the coleslaw; it’s a favorite both at the house and among my co-workers when we do team potlucks but there is sooo much sugar in it!
And how cute are these burger plates and napkins!!?? I found them at Target for just a couple bucks. They had hotdog plates too which I also picked up.
Daniel couldn’t have a burger, but he really enjoyed some green beans as evidenced by the pureed green stuff all over his face. He’s 10 months as of today and showing a lot of interest in big people food so he was desperate for a bite of coleslaw. It’s not baby friendly, though, so he’s going to have to wait until next year to try mama’s famous side-dish.
How was your 4th!?
